Ahead of the September 6 release of the highly anticipated "Destiny 2," Bungie has announced that preload is already happening this August 31. The studio also announced that there will be a day-one update for the upcoming online-only multiplayer first-person shooter video game. According to Gamespot, the studio took to its official blog to share that those who have pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 can begin pre-loading on August 31. The studio will announce exactly what time pre-loading will start. According to the blog spot, players are encouraged to follow and check the @BungieHelp Twitter account, which will make an announcement on the exact time of pre-load for the game.

Bungie heading to Gamescom and PAX

Before "Destiny 2" launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this September 6, players and fans of the franchise will get to see Bungie showcase some awesome "Destiny 2" features when Gamescom takes place on August 22 in Cologne, Germany, and in PAX West this September 1. There will be some exciting events during PAX West, including signings, panels, cosplay, playable demos, and more.

Companion mobile app announced

This August 22, Bungie will release a new update for the "Destiny" companion mobile app. According to Gamespot, there will be two major new features in the update, which include the Explore feature and Clans feature. The Explore feature will let gamers stay up to date with the latest news and updates surrounding the game and discover new events and activities.

It will also feature the latest creations from the community, as well as forums and groups where players can interact. Meanwhile, the Clans feature will let players create or join a clan, as well as invite other players to play. Players can also manage the clan roster to see who's playing, as well as create a group identity with their unique banner.

There's also a tracking feature that will monitor progression and shared rewards, as well as communication tools to keep players in touch with their teammates.

"Destiny 2" arrives three years after its predecessor, which Bungie continues to support with the latest DLC called "Rise of Iron," which is turning a year old this September.

Speaking of expansions, the first expansion for "Destiny 2" is set to arrive this Winter. "Destiny 2" will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC beginning September 4. It is directed by James McQuillan and produced by Jonty Barnes.
