Fans of the smart-mouthed adventurer are surely going to miss him as Naughty Dog introduces the next title in the "Uncharted" series. Nathan Drake takes a backseat this time around as Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross takes the wheel in “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy”. A lot of fans felt that “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” was already a fitting end to the popular franchise. The epilogue felt right for a lot of gamers and established a fitting close to a wild ride of adventures. However, it seems that the developer also wants the supporting cast to shine this time around.

A whole new adventure

During an interview with game director Kurt Margenau, he explained that “there was never any doubt in our minds that ‘Uncharted’ is more than just Nathan Drake.” He also pointed out that last game gave the developers an opportunity to showcase some of the franchise’s more memorable characters. Margenau explained that unlike Nate, who had a hero complex throughout the series, Chloe Frazer leans toward being selfish and prefers to keep away from danger. As for Nadine Ross, the director did not elaborate further to most likely save gamers from any spoilers. It was also revealed that the “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy” will explore Chloe’s past and reveal more about her father and her heritage.

From DLC to a full-fledged title

The next installment was initially intended to be a DLC expansion story for “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End”, but interest and feedback prompted the developer to turn it into an entire game of its own. The story apparently takes place right after the events of the previous game. Just like the previous installments where Nate usually had a sidekick tag along, the sequel will have players as Chloe Frazer enlist the intimidating Nadine Ross for help.

Given their past encounter with each other, fans can expect an apprehensive partnership. Players can also expect to discover some interesting facts about the duo as they interact with each other during their adventures.

Big game budget price

Naughty Dog has revealed that “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy” will be priced at $40, which seems cheap for a standalone game.

It will include an expansive single-player campaign as well as all other game modes featured in “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.” Critics are confident that the new installment will lead to more spin-off games with other cast members in the future. The new adventure begins on August 22, 2017. Just like its previous installments, the game is still a PlayStation 4 exclusive title.
