Rumors swirl that there is an ongoing closed alpha for “Star Wars Battlefront 2”, and it is believed that the leak on Reddit is data mined from the alpha files. The game is set to appear at the D23 Expo next week, where heroes from the Rebels and Empire will be likely revealed.
A list of characters leaked
The said leak shows a list of heroes from both the Rebels and the Empire who will join other characters that everyone already knows about including Han Solo, Chewbacca, Yoda, Rey, and Darth Maul.
The supposedly leaked characters are Boba Fett, Bossk, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, General Grievous, Iden, Kylo Ren, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Darth Maul, Captain Phasma, Rey, and Yoda.
It is noted, however, that this list includes characters teased in the game's trailers.
Beta set in Fall
There is a huge possibility that the alpha test for “Star Wars Battlefront 2” is ongoing until now. Last June 22, a leaked post by EA Community Manager Matthew Everett via the game’s official forum was giving instructions to players on how to report a bug or issue they encounter while playing the alpha.
Everett, who is also known as Sledgehammer70, provided a template on how to report the issues. Apparently, the post was immediately removed but a redditor managed to capture a screenshot as evidence.
While the alpha test is being done with a selected few, Beta will be happening this Fall and it will be available for those who pre-order any edition of the game.
Those who purchase the game in advance will also be entitled to downloadable contents in the form of seasons.
Seasons will include access to iconic characters, join the fight in planetary conflicts and epic space battles, and maneuver starfighters. This will start with the “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” season beginning in December where players can play the characters of Captain Phasma, Finn, and a lot more.
D23 Expo appearance
It is also confirmed that “Star Wars Battlefront 2” will appear at Disney’s upcoming D23 Expo alongside “Kingdom Hearts 3” in “Level Up! The Walt Disney Company’s Video Game Showcase”. This will happen on July 15, Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. PDT at the D23 Expo Arena.
The event will feature new trailers, new gameplays, special guests, and unforgettable surprises from the Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney portfolios.
D23 is Disney’s own expo that is hosted every two years and back in 2015, it promoted the release of “Star Wars: The Force Awaken” and “Star Wars: Battlefront” alongside films such as “Captain America: Civil War”, “Pirates of the Caribbean 5,” and “Finding Dory.”
“Star Wars Battlefront 2” is slated to launch on November 17th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
