Software giant Microsoft has just announced this week that its open world racing game “Forza Horizon 3" won’t receive a new Car Pack this month. Reports said that the DLC pack has been delayed due to the US holiday celebration (Independence Day). However, the company has released a statement, confirming that this is not the real case and that Microsoft has really no plans to release a new DLC for this month.

According to reports, the Redmond-based company has not clarified why the open world racing game would not receive any new content or announcement for this month.

As a result, it was suggested that the game developer Turn 10 might try to reuse content it had already rewarded before in the game.

Turn 10 is expected to offer the number 45 Porsche Flying Lizard 911 GT3 RSR racing car in the game’s Forzathon event this week. However, due to the lack of new content, the developer might decide to reuse the 2010 Ferrari 599XX as a prize.

A quick look at Forza Horizon 3

First released in September 2016, “Forza Horizon 3” is an open world racing video game exclusively developed for Microsoft Windows PC and Xbox One. It was published by Microsoft Studios. The racing game is set in an open world environment based on a fictional representation of Australia. Contents were released in the form of Car Pack DLC update and two world expansions, which include additional racing cars.

Upon release on 2016, the game has quickly received universal acclaim from critics and numerous review sites. The game’s Xbox One version has managed to hold an average critic score of 91/100 (based on 91 game reviews made), making it the most-acclaimed "Forza" game to date.

The Forza Car Pack

Based on the company’s track record and gaming history, “Forza Horizon 3” received a new Car Pack on the first Tuesday of each month.

Updates received from the month of October 2016 to March 2017 were all included in the Car Pass DLC pack, while the April’s Porsche Car pack along with the June’s Mountain Dew Car Pack had to be acquired separately.

As for the month of May, Microsoft said that there was no Car Pack release for May due to the release of the game’s “Hot Wheels” DLC expansion.

May is the first month that "Forza" has not receive a new Car Pack update and July is the second month that won’t receive any DLC pack.

Whether the racing game will receive another Car Pack DLC for this month or not remains to be seen, but it still is a fitting conclusion to the racing game given the fact that the developer will be focusing more on promoting "Forza Motorsport 7" this coming September before its October release.

Other Forza-related news

The game publisher, Microsoft Studios, has not yet made any official statement that it would release the much-awaited “Forza Horizon 4” next year. However, there are some new reports circling around the web that the software giant isn’t slowing down when it comes to keeping up the momentum and heat of its critically acclaimed "Forza" franchise.

The company has been busy updating the racing game. Recently, it released the “Hot Wheels” expansion DLC and later this year, it brings back its traditional and bigger "Forza Motorsports" series along with its much effective looks to date.

The game made a successful hit upon its release last year, and now, Forza fans are anticipating the arrival of its successor, "Forza Horizon 4." Thankfully, fans may not have to wait too long before the game arrives as it is reported earlier that the game may be released sometime on 2018.

In a recent interview with the gaming site GameSpot, Turn 10 Studios has managed to make some good conversation with the gaming site, providing more about the studio’s plans for the racing game.

In the said interview, software architect Chris Tector has revealed to the public that "Forza" is now an annual franchise, suggesting that "Forza Horizon" and "Forza Motorsports" might be released alternately.

As "Forza Motorsport 7" is scheduled for release this year, basing on the software architect's recent interview with GameSpot, it is likely that "Forza Horizon 4" would launch next year. For now, there still no direct or official confirmation on "Forza Horizon 4" to arrive next year, but fans are hoping for this.
