Blizzard’s famous hack and slash action role-playing game “Diablo 3” is available for free on Xbox One over the weekend as a part of Microsoft’s Free Play Days promotion.

Spend your weekend in hell

Feed your hunger for loot this weekend because Blizzard is giving you the opportunity to plunder treasure throughout the world of Sanctuary. “Diablo 3” will be free to play from 9:00 AM PT today, until 11:59 PM PT on July 31. This generous amount of time gives the players four days to try everything the game has to offer from the base game, to all the content of the expansion pack “Reaper of Souls.”

If you download the game during this free weekend, you can finish all of Diablo 3’s five acts and still have time to try the adventure mode.

The only missing feature from the free weekend is the latest “Diablo 3: Rise of the Necromancer” which includes the fan-favorite iconic Necromancer class.

Another thing to note is that your saves from this free weekend would be compatible, should you decide to buy the official game later on. Xbox Live will also keep your progress and achievements.

What the free weekend has to offer

The Ultimate Evil Edition of Diablo 3 includes the base game and its expansion pack “Reaper of Soul.”

“Reaper of Souls” is the first Diablo 3 expansion pack released back in March 25, 2014. The expansion brought a number of new elements in the game including new skills, equipment, NPCs and runes. It also added the Crusader class, giving more customization in the game.

Another notable addition brought by the expansion is the Adventure mode that allows the players full access to the world map to hunt bounties, roam anywhere, and complete quests.

Diablo 3 was released for PC back in 2012. A year later, it was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Then, in August 2014, the Ultimate Evil Edition was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Last month, Blizzard released a downloadable content called Rise of the Necromancer Pack. The DLC includes the aforementioned Necromancer class as well as a few in-game goodies like a vanity pet Half-Formed Golem, cosmetic wings, character portrait, banner sigil, pennant, additional two character slots, and two stash tabs. Unfortunately, this DLC pack is not included in the free weekend.

But still, the amount of content in the game and its expansion is already astounding. So, if you don’t have anything to do this weekend, you might want to check out Diablo 3.
