Studio Wildcard recently confirms that there will be no server wipes on “Ark: Survival Evolved” when it officially releases. Along with the confirmation are several details about the game servers and the studio’s official release date for the highly anticipated Ragnarok map.

Reversal of statement

The highly anticipated action-adventure title, “Ark: Survival Evolved” is scheduled release on August 8, 2017. It will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. With the official launch approaching, the team is hard at work tying up loose ends and polishing other improvements.

According to Studio Wildcard, when the action-adventure game officially launches, there will be no server wipes. In other words, players who have spent many long hours playing the game can still keep their progress when the game finally releases. This is a major reversal from the previous statement of the studio on wiping the servers at launch.

Ragnarok Mod

Aside from the confirmation that there will be no server wipes, the developer also revealed several details about the much-awaited Ragnarok content for the console version of the game. Studio Wildcard initially scheduled the release of the community made mod on the consoles on July 19. However, the team met several issues and has not pursued the launch.

The massive will be officially released along with the base game on August 8.

This mod will be free to all users and will offer a new environment that players will surely enjoy. Ragnarok map has been released to the game’s PC version and has received positive feedback in the Steam from gamers. The studio also revealed that they will release another update for the PC version of the game.

Servers

In addition to the latest console launch date for the Ragnarok Mod, Studio Wildcard also shared about several details on the game’s servers. Upon the game’s official release, it will still utilize its current legacy servers. Apart from that, a new band of network servers that will run fresh codes and infrastructure will be made available.

This move from the developers is their way to restrict hackers and cheaters from spoiling the game.

Moreover, during the launch of “Ark: Survival Evolved,” the game developer will provide private rentable dedicated servers on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. All these servers will be equipped with all the customer server configuration settings. These dedicated servers will allow players to create a backup of the files saved in the server. While the servers can accommodate up to 100 players, it will also allow players to try new things without the fear of losing their data.
