E3 is in full swing and over the next few days, all the biggest names in the video game industry will be taking the stage to show off their awesome new games and hardware. On Saturday we watched EA show off new games such as "Star Wars Battlefront 2," "A Way Out" and "Anthem." Last night we got to see what Microsoft's Xbox has in store for us. W also got to see plenty of cool new games such as the reveal of "Assassin's Creed: Origins" and "Metro Exodus." However, the highlight of the evening was easily the official announcement of the long awaited Project Scorpio: the Xbox One X.

Xbox One X

The Xbox One X is set to be the most powerful console on the market with 6 teraflops of graphical power, a custom GPU engine that runs at 1172MHz. It comes with an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies, and 1TB of storage. All previously released Xbox One accessories and games (including backwards compatible ones) will work on the Xbox One X. This means you won't have to restart your games library from scratch or repurchase games you've already paid for. It will also use super sampling to ensure that games look great even on TV's that don't support 4K. Despite its considerable power, the Xbox One X is also the smallest Xbox console ever made and it looks sleek with a classic black paint job.

Xbox Vs PlayStation

Currently, the most powerful console you can buy is the PlayStation Pro which supports 4.2 teraflops and 911MHz. As you can see from the Xbox One X specs listed above, the PlayStation Pro will be the less powerful console once the X is released. Several great looking exclusive games have also been announced for the Xbox One X including "Forza Motorsport 7", "Sea of Thieves", "Crackdown 3", and "State of Decay 2".

As Microsoft's main rival in the console market, it will be interesting to see what Sony does to stay in competition with the Xbox One X.

Release date and price

Microsoft is aiming to launch the Xbox One X on November 7th worldwide for $499 US dollars. No doubt the timing is designed to take full advantage of the holidays. That is when gamers will be looking to splash out and treat themselves and their loved ones.

We look forward to the rest of E3 and want to see what the likes of Sony and Bethesda have planned. E3 is currently taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It will draw to a close this Thursday on the 15th of June. It is the first E3 ever to allow the general public to purchase tickets and attend.
