While “Destiny 2” is still a long way from becoming a reality, this has not kept gamers from anticipating the game’s possible pre-load date. After all, if it turns out to be true, they will eventually gain early access to the upcoming title. Here is everything about it in a nutshell.

If “Destiny 2” is given a pre-load date, players can download the game ahead of its official release date. Apparently, this seems to be the case with PlayStation 4. There seems to be a proof suggesting that pre-loading will happen on the console.

The new toggle explained

PlayStation 4 users were quick to notice a certain toggle on the official site of the game. Interestingly, it mentions an auto download with a date listed as September 3rd. Some believe that it is simply an arbitrary date, but others argue otherwise. They think that this refers to the actual pre-load of the game on the console.

Pre-loading, in a sense, refers to the download of any digital purchases to the console’s hard drive ahead of a game's official release date. In this case, it is "Destiny 2" on PlayStation 4. Since players have pre-loaded the game on the console already, they can immediately play it the moment it launches. More importantly, it prevents the possibility of experiencing download issues as everyone tries to acquire the game's files at the same time.

There is no reason to believe that Bungie will not implement this in the sequel.

On Xbox One and PC

Unfortunately, for owners of Xbox One or PC, no hint of a pre-load date can be seen on the official site of “Destiny 2.” But of course, it should not be long before the studio announces it. After all, this would be in the best interest of players, and, more importantly, the video game company.

It simply helps the latter gauge the level of interest the market has for the upcoming shooter title.

Whether or not Bungie introduces a pre-load date, there is no doubt that “Destiny 2” will be big. There has been so much anticipation from the gaming community, as players cannot help but get excited about the title. Interestingly, the studio confirmed that the release date of the sequel will not be pushed back.

There were rumors suggesting that the developers wanted to move the release date in order to develop the game further. Fortunately for gamers, this was merely speculation. The forthcoming title is expected to hit the shelves on September 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
