Ark: Survival Evolved” has made an impressive feat since it was launched on Steam Early Access on 2015. During that time, “Jurassic World” was released in theaters, and Studio Wildcard took the opportunity to introduce to the gaming world its version of open world survival game. The game follows the story of players getting stuck on an island inhabited by dinosaurs and other perilous threats that hover the place.

Currently on Steam, “Ark: Survival Evolved” have five million users. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players constitute millions more.

During E3 2017 event, it was announced that the game would also launch on Windows 10 Store. Through this, the open world survival title will introduce a cross buy cross play function with the Xbox One.

In a recent interview with Wccftech, Co-Founder and Co-Creative Director Jesse Rapczak revealed important details about the game and their plans. He revealed that all the official mods are free content that players can enjoy. The executive also underlined that the expansion packs are created by the game’s internal development team.

Two expansions

Aside from those, Rapczak also shared that the two Expansions would arrive soon. The first expansion, according to him, would be made available soon after the game’s official release.

The second expansion would most likely be available by 2018. For now, although excited to share details about the game’s upcoming expansion, Rapczak said that he would like to reserve it until the release of the game.

Nintendo Switch and HDR capability

He was also asked about the possibility of the game releasing on the latest hybrid console in the gaming market.

Although the team is enthusiastic about the game on Nintendo Switch, the executive admitted that nothing about it is on the table yet. In addition, Rapczak also mentioned that Studio Wildcard would implement HDR support in the game soon. He added that the game is HDR in its core and they just tune it for SDR to accommodate non-HDR displays.

He assured that the HDR would be enabled to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X. There is also a possibility that HDR will be on Windows 10.
