Capcom has already released several teaser videos, gameplay trailers, and story trailers for their upcoming crossover fighting video game, "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite." The teasers had revealed quite a few characters that will be coming to the highly awaited title, which will include recurring heroes from the previous installments as well as brand new faces. Now, reports are revealing that the full list of characters may have just been leaked and it contains some relatively big names from both sides.

Leaked roster

The leak was first spotted within a post on the website NeoGAF by a forum user named "Ryce." The leakster has had a good track record of getting things accurate when it comes to the particular franchise, which means that there is a very good chance that the leak is authentic.

Marvel playable characters:

  • Ant-Man
  • Captain America
  • Captain Marvel
  • Doctor Strange
  • Gamora
  • Hawkeye
  • Hulk
  • Iron Man
  • Nova
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Spider-Man
  • Thanos
  • Thor
  • Ultron

Capcom playable characters:

  • Arthur (Ghost n' Goblins)
  • Chris Redfield (Resident Evil)
  • Chun-Li (Street Fighter)
  • Dante (Devil May Cry)
  • Firebrand (Ghost n' Goblins)
  • Jedah (Darkstalkers)
  • Monster Hunter (Monster Hunter)
  • Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers)
  • Nemesis (Resident Evil)
  • Ryu (Street Fighter)
  • Nathan Spencer (Bionic Commando)
  • Strider Hiryu (Strider)
  • Mega Man X (Mega Man)

Additional Characters

It has to be noted that there seems to be a character missing from the Capcom side. Aside from characters that are listed above, Capcom has announced that it will be releasing more characters within post-launch downloadable content (DLC) packs.

Sigma, the main antagonist from the "Mega Man X" series, will become available as a bonus character for those who will order the game's deluxe edition package.

Goodbye 'X-Men'

Fans of the franchise will likely notice that there is an apparent lack of "X-Men" characters from the roster. Capcom has apparently moved away from these characters seeing as that their copyrights are currently with Fox.

Several mainstay characters such as Wolverine, Storm, and Magneto, have been removed.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" is scheduled to be released on Sept. 19 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Unlike other installments in the series, the upcoming game will feature a new "Infinity Stones" gameplay mechanic, which will essentially grant players unique abilities depending on the stone that is used.
