Oreo recently released a new flavor on its line, but the famous cookie brand wanted to keep it a mystery for now. According to an Instagram post on The Junk Food Aisle, the new product is called “Mystery Oreo.”

“Mystery Oreo,” as captured by The Junk Food Aisle, comes in a white-colored package. The image of the cookies on the package only carries a white vanilla cream filling inside the cookies, with a question mark embedded on the cream.

The Instagram user posted in the caption that the unveiling of the mysterious flavor is coming soon. They added that there is no specific word on where and when the new cookies are going to be released.

Oreo, a cookie brand under the company Nabisco, has been into releasing new flavors of its original product. Among the most recent ones are Apple Pie and Cadbury-coated biscuits.

Win $50,000

The cookie label included a small text on the upper right-hand side of the package that advertised a competition for guessing what the flavor will be. Fans who are able to guess the flavor right will get a chance to win $50,000.

This money prompted social media users and netizens to comment their guesses. Some of the speculations include marshmallow, white chocolate, coconut cream pie, and cheesecake. Some fans also guessed that the mystery flavor is strawberry cheesecake, cotton candy or mint Oreos.

There were also odd-sounding answers that came from netizens.

Some of them suggested that the cream filling will taste like Starbucks frappe, toothpaste, and maple syrup.

It has been earlier reported that the company is also giving away $500,000 for new flavor suggestions. They are willing to give away this amount of money for the best proposals submitted.

Halloween-inspired

There were other companies that started unveiling their Halloween-inspired and autumn-inspired flavors in the past weeks.

According to Refinery29, Reese’s has recently revealed its Peanut Butter Bats, slated for the upcoming season of trick-or-treating.

The new Reese’s Peanut Butter Bats are shaped like the flying mammal. It appears that the flavor is approximate or exactly like the classic flavor in the market today, with the only difference seen being the shape of the chocolates.

Cosmopolitan reported that the new Reese’s product will be offered exclusively at Target for a price of $3.59 for each bag.

M&M’s has reportedly announced its “Cookies and Cream” choco candies with the brand name that read “Cookies and Screeeam.” Other companies like Starbucks have already begun offering their Pumpkin Spice Latte a few weeks ago.
