Halloween is just around the corner, making it the perfect time to play scary games. There are plenty of Horror Games that you can play depending on which platform you own. Now’s the perfect time to plan a horror-themed gameplay session with your friends. While there are plenty of titles to choose from, some games stand out among the others. That said, here are some of the best scary games you can play in celebration of Halloween.

'Until Dawn'

This unconventional horror game lets you play as eight teenagers who must survive a thrilling night filled with monsters and a killer.

The premise follows a group of friends who reunite during the death anniversary of two of their friends. Needless to say, their decision was a bad idea as they get hunted down throughout the night. Luckily, you, the player, gets to decide who survives or not. You make their decisions throughout the game, making it somewhat like an interactive movie. Everyone can live or die depending on your choice, making “Until Dawn” the perfect party game. Take note that the game is single player, but your friends can pitch in when making choices in the game. You can play “Until Dawn” on the PlayStation 4.

'Resident Evil 7'

The latest entry in the “Resident Evil” series went back to its original horror roots.

In “Resident Evil 7,” you play as a man named Ethan who is looking for his missing wife. His search leads him to an eerie mansion where he discovers that there are some sinister things lurking in the shadows. Instead of open fields and action gameplay, “RE7” puts players in winding corridors and dark environments. While there are guns in the game, you’ll be relying more on evasion and stealth to get by.

“Resident Evil 7” is available to play on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

'Silent Hill 2'

Despite releasing 16 years ago, “Silent Hill 2” still stands as one of the scariest horror games in the industry. Here, you play as a man named James Sunderland who receives a letter from his dead wife, Mary, urging him to meet her at Silent Hill.

Strangely enough, he decides to obey the letter and travels to the haunted town. There, he fights various horrific creatures just to reach the certain landmarks that were important to him and his wife. The game tackles several psychological themes, earning the respect of many fans. While the creatures might seem deformed and disgusting, they’re all just projections of James’ psychological burdens. You can play “Silent Hill 2” on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PC.
