The first Sunday in August is celebrated as National Sisters Day. That is the day when female siblings pay more attention to each other than usual. Even though sisters sometimes have disagreements and don't see eye to eye, they still have a special bond.

Sometimes sisters look alike even though they are not twins. There is some physical resemblance, and there are some things they do that are similar. Many celebrity sisters are well known, and some that people don't even know they are sisters.

Twin sisters

Identical twins Tamara Mowry-Housley and Tia Mowley-Hardrict starred in their own television show that aired from 1994 to 1999.

They are thinking about having a reboot of "Sister, Sister." Actresses and fashion designers Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are also twins. Ann Landers and her twin sister Abigail Van Buren were columnists who competed against each other in the newspapers. Let's not forget about Barbara and Jenna Bush Hager, twins daughters of former President George W. Bush.

Reality stars

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" stars are sisters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Kardashian, as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Notice all their names start with a "K." "Braxton Family Values" also have five sisters whose names start with a "T." They are Toni, Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar Braxton.

The family with the most sisters who are reality stars are the Duggars.

There are 19 siblings which include nine sisters and ten brothers. Every child's name starts with a "J." Eight of the males have biblical names.

Same careers

It is interesting that sometimes sisters choose the same profession. Venus and Serena Williams chose tennis, and they are known to compete against each other. Beyonce and Solange Knowles are both singers.

The Jackson sisters consisting of Rebbie, LaToya, and Janet, came from a musical family. Melissa and Sara Gilbert are actresses. Britney and Jamie Spears are singers and actresses. The Pointer Sisters and the Wilson Sisters are singing groups.

Robin Roberts of "Good Morning America" and her sister, Sally-Ann, are both newscasters.

Sally-Ann was the donor for Robin when she needed a bone marrow a few years ago. Eva, Magda, and Zsa Zsa Gabor were all actresses. Jessica and Ashlee Simpson are both singers and songwriters. Hilary Duff is an actress and singer, and so is her sister Haylie. Paris and Nicky Hilton are socialites.

Others

Ashley is an actress and sister Wynonna Judd is an actress and country singer. Jackie was an author, and her sister Joan Collins is both an actress and an author. Malia and Sasha Obama are teenage daughters of former President Barack and Michelle Obama.
