The world has always been crazy about Bollywood actors and their presence at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. In recent years, more Bollywood stars have appeared in Hollywood films and earned international recognition for themselves. Here we have a list of five Indian actors who have had appeared in the American movies.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is one of the most successful Bollywood stars. She pursued a career in Hollywood the previous year. Her debut series, “Quantico,” earned Priyanka international recognition. Most recently, she was starred in “Baywatch” along with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

These days, Chopra is in talks with ABC for developing a new series, and has also started shooting of “Quantico 2.” Priyanka Chopra was honored with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2016, and Time magazine named her one of the most influential stars in the world.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone is one of the most famous Bollywood actresses. She rose to prominence with her appearance in “XxX: The Return of Xander Cage,” in 2016. Here she was cast in the lead along side Vin Diesel. Through the film failed at the box office, Deepika managed to earn recognition in the American film industry. Padukone is the recipient of several awards, including three Filmfare Awards. As of now, Deepika is busy with the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical drama “Padmavati,” along with Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan is basically from Jaipur and has earned a name in both Hollywood and Bollywood. His latest Hollywood film, “Inferno,” is based on a novel of the same name by Dan Brown. The film grossed $220 million against a production budget of $75 million. Irrfan played Harry Sims in “Inferno.” As a head of The Consortium, he helped Zobrist in his missions.

Irrfan Khan also played brief roles on “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “Life of Pi.”

Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai is the Miss World 1994 pageant and one of the most beautiful women in the world. She began her Hollywood career with “Bride & Prejudice,” a film that earned Rai international recognition. She was later cast in “The Last Legion,” “The Pink Panther 2” and “The Mistress of Spices.” Aishwarya’s “Devdas” was chosen as India's official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and received a nomination at the BAFTA Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Anil Kapoor

Anil Kapoor is a household name in the Indian film industry, but his involvement in Hollywood has made him a familiar face globally. From the famous television show “24” to Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire,” Anil has tried his luck in cinematic ventures abroad. He is the recipient of a variety of awards, including three National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards.
