Infectious mononucleosis is one of the most common disorders. It is caused by a virus named as Epstein–Barr virus and more common in children than adults. Early symptoms include a sore throat, enlarged liver or lymphatic nodes, severe pain in neck, tiredness, sleeping disorder, and anxiety. The virus spreads through saliva and infects the lungs, liver, and internal body organs. Though there is no vaccine for the illness, it is possible to get rid of infectious mononucleosis with a few home remedies. Doctors recommend painkillers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Coconut oil

Take vitamin C supplements upon the recommendation of your doctor.

Apple cider vinegar

A study published in the Medical Science Monitor reveals that Apple Cider Vinegar is good for human health. It treats various complications, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infectious diseases, and allergies. Apple cider vinegar has excellent antifungal and antiviral properties; it helps kill the viruses responsible for mononucleosis.

Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with one teaspoon of honey, and consume it every day. Alternatively, you can add three teaspoons of unfiltered apple cider vinegar to one glass of warm water. Prepare a solution, and drink it every night before going to bed.

Garlic

Garlic contains allicin, an ingredient that has antimicrobial properties and helps kill the harmful viruses and bacteria. Garlic also has loads of vitamins which stimulate the production of interferon, a virus-fighting substance. Eat three to four cloves of garlic every morning for effective results. Alternatively, you can include garlic in your day-to-day curries, pizza, pasta, and other eatables.
